GDC '25

So very last minute we decided it would be a good idea to book a flight to San Francisco and attend GDC. We realised that we had not attended a bigger industry event since before Covid, so we thought was about time we got back out there!

Flights, travel, tickets were booked and off I went on long trip to SF. Bristol to London Heathrow, LAX then SF. Everything went really smoothly and we had allowed time between the sections of travel so it was no stress, and then finally I arrived in SF at the accommodation.

It was a short trip but we decided it would be enough time to get the meetings we wanted sorted and have time to fit in any last minute chats. Ended up only being in SF for all day Monday, Tuesday and fly home Wednesday evening. It was actually perfect amount of time and didn’t leave me enough time to worry about jet lag!

GDC was quite different than I thought and was much more about the talksthan show floor (which only opened up Wednesday btw). In the main building (where the talks were held) there was a really great collection of curated indie games (Day of the Devs) and some other company booths but it was just really focused on the talks and business meetings. There were so many talks and ones you could attend even without the full access stand so was great to see some of those in person.
